Dimensions: If you are unsure of your live copy area dimensions
or you are designing a full page
" bleed" ad, please
contact your representative for exact specifications.
Screen ruling: 155 lpi (We cannot guarantee legibility of fonts
below 6 pts. Please widen and or
knock out small fonts or fine print.)
File type: Publication is composed on Macintosh in Quark XPress.
Please provide your native QX file
and all support files and all typefaces.
Ideally, this is a suitcase or multiple suitcases of all fonts and
support
files burned to the same disk. Our final output is Press-Optimized PDF
computer to plate.
HIGH RESOLUTION PDF OPTION: You may submit an extremely
high resolution pdf file that is 100%
exact to our specifications. If your
ad misses specs, it will be rejected. This
file must be saved at the
highest resolution only. This should be no less that
2400 dpi converted through Acrobat 4.0. Please note:
we will not be
able to make ANY corrections
or changes to your ad once this file is received.
Unless you are very familiar
with this process, we recommend submitting original/native QXD files instead.
Typefaces: Macintosh PS type 1 only. All others must be converted
to outlines. We cannot use TrueType.
Ink coverage: UCR, black limit 80%, total ink limit 270%; in GCR
set black generation to "medium"
Support
files: Supporting graphics files should be provided and
can be JPEG (no compression), TIFF,
or *EPS. (Please convert
all images to "binary.")
If
support files are bitmap, constrain Image Composition resolution
(AT ACTUAL SIZE) to:
Grayscale/4C: Minimum Res. (130dpi) —Maximum Res. (215dpi)
Lineart: Minimum Res. (600 dpi) —Maximum Res. (600 dpi)
*Please do not nest .eps files into each other
